Opolis Privacy Policy
We have written the following page to explain how your information is protected and used by this site.
Opolis treats your personal information with diligent discretion and complete privacy. Therefore we purposely collect almost no information from you other than an email address and a username--we do not ask for name, age, or location so that we can ensure your privacy to the greatest degree.
In addition, we will never sell, give, or reveal your email address or other personal information to any third party source. We will never use your address to solicit or advertise. Emails sent will only be for account notifications and will always be sent from us directly. Of course you can ask to be removed from our system at any point and your user information will be permanently deleted from our records.
Information posted on the Opolis messaging system should be considered public. While the vast majority of users on our various sites are residents in the local area that is described, we cannot verify this with 100% accuracy. We encourage people to never reveal sensitive information about yourself or other matters.
Any data you post will never be republished or sold to a third party source. We do our best to protect the privacy and scope of your messages, and will do nothing with them outside of being stored in our databases.
We do everything we can to protect your anonymity by never displaying information sensitive to you such as contact information or email when you post. Any messages sent between users never reveal email information and can be used as a safe, anonymous communication medium.
In the end we encourage all our users to deal locally, which Opolis hopes to help you do. Listing a blender for sale to someone who can meet you right outside your building is a much safer transaction than going to a large public site and publishing your phone number or sending money through the mail.
